Making Sure Your Church Website Works Tuesday, March 4, 2014 7pm to 8 pm EST Led by Meredith Gould
Everything you ever knew, believed, or wanted to believe about church websites has completely changed during the past year or so. We have Web 3.0 (mobile) and social media to thank for needing to rethink the church website – strategically and tactically. During this interactive webinar digital strategist and church communications professional Meredith Gould will explain:
what belongs on your website and what needs to be removed;
how to organize content (navigation);
using pictures/images to their and your best advantage;
why to use a CMS (content management system) and what to avoid when dealing with church website template vendors; and
coordinating/integrating your website with other digital tools (e.g., social media, e-newsletters).
Come learn how to get your website fixed or created before Jesus comes again in glory. Your questions about practical concerns will be answered by someone with years of hands-on experience in website UX (user experience), design, and content development. Meredith Gould, PhD (@meredithgould) is a digital strategist and church communications consultant with well over a decade of hands-on experience at all levels of church and across denominations. She’s the author of 9 books about faith and everyday life. Her most recent book, The Social Media Gospel: Sharing the Good News in New Ways (Liturgical Press) has become the go-to guide for digital ministry. Her book, The Word Made Fresh: Communicating Church and Faith Today (Morehouse) helped establish church communication as a vital ministry. In 2011, she founded the weekly ecumenical Twitter-based chat about church social media (#chsocm) and is known for her passionate advocacy of social media. In 2013, Meredith received a Platinum Fellow designation from the MayoClinicCenter for Social Media for her pioneering leadership in healthcare social media.
